10kVA Hybrid Solar Inverter & Rooftop PV — Gwarinpa, Abuja (Residential Estate)

10kVA Hybrid Solar Inverter with Rooftop Panels in Gwarinpa, Abuja

Estate duplex upgrade for full-day reliability, weekend resilience, and lower generator runtime.
The Overview!

10kVA Hybrid Solar Inverter & Rooftop PV Gwarinpa, Abuja

The estate brief was clear: “Less noise, fewer fuel runs, and stable power for pumps and appliances.” We started with a load audit, logging peak demand, pump start currents, and typical evening consumption. The roof survey identified two usable faces; we modelled panel placement to avoid self-shading and left clear walk paths for future cleaning.

Our design paired a 10kVA hybrid inverter with a larger PV array for strong daytime self-consumption and reliable battery charging. We sized lithium storage for 8–10 hours of mixed-load backup and added energy monitoring so the homeowner could see “where the power goes” in real time. The proposal outlined scope, timelines, and warranties; once approved, we staged deliveries to minimize disruption inside the home.

Client: K. Sule (Estate Duplex)
Location: Gwarinpa, Abuja
Services: Survey, Engineering Design, PV & Battery Installation, Hybrid Inverter Setup, Monitoring & Scheduled Maintenance

Installation took three days. Day one: mounting structure, panel placement, DC cabling, and weather-sealed penetrations. Day two: inverter and battery wall, AC protection boards, and surge/earthing upgrades in line with best practice. Day three: tidy-up, labelling, and thorough testing—string voltages, breaker function, safe disconnection, and controlled load ramp-up to confirm stability during switchover.

We configured smart settings—prioritizing solar during the day, enabling quiet battery operation for evenings, and reserving a small battery buffer to ride through late-night blips. The handover session covered the app/dashboard, simple maintenance (panel rinsing schedule, keeping vents clear), and who to call if anything looks unusual.

Post-installation, the estate reported dramatically fewer generator hours, cooler and quieter nights, and better appliance protection thanks to stable voltage. We scheduled quarterly remote checks and left a short maintenance checklist with the facility team.

The Results!

Results & Impact
Gwarinpa Estate, Abuja (10kVA)

  • Reliable coverage: ~8–10 hours backup on mixed residential loads, including pumps.

  • Generator hours down: ~70% reduction; fewer late-night restarts and fuel costs.

  • Daytime self-consumption: Larger PV array offsets daytime bills while charging batteries.

  • User visibility: Real-time monitoring clarifies where energy goes and when to shift loads.

  • Estimated solar yield: ~28–36 kWh/day (seasonal).

  • CO₂ avoided: ~3.0 t/year (indicative).

  • Power protection: Surge/earthing upgrades; smoother pump starts and appliance life.

  • Support: Quarterly remote performance reviews; simple homeowner maintenance checklist.
