We started with a walkthrough of the duplex to study how the family uses electricity. We identified appliances that stay on during power outages, the busiest rooms at night, and the positions of key equipment. At the distribution board, we mapped the circuits and measured typical loads including lighting, fridge and freezer, TV and streaming devices, Wi-Fi, and fans. This assessment formed the basis for designing a reliable backup inverter solution.

Procurement focused on reliable, warrantied components and proper protection gear. During installation, we used corrosion-resistant rails and stainless fasteners for the panels, routed DC cables in UV-protected trunking, and added DC and AC isolators with surge protection to guard against voltage spikes. Inside, we built a clean and organized power wall that houses the inverter, batteries, breakers, and clear labeling, leaving space for airflow and future maintenance.
Commissioning included DC string checks, insulation resistance tests, polarity verification, and staged load testing. We set up automatic switchover, applied conservative battery discharge settings for longer life, and enabled basic remote monitoring. During handover, we trained the users on reading the inverter display, understanding status indicators, performing safe shutdown and restart, and using solar efficiently by running high-power devices during peak sunlight.
Within days, the family experienced quieter operation and steady power. Generator use dropped, food stayed cold during outages, and internet access stayed consistent for work and study. We also scheduled a 30-day remote performance check and offered an annual maintenance plan to keep the system running efficiently.
